Personal Statement

I've been lucky to have good coaches. (And I still do). They tell me to do my job, which is to control the middle. And that's what I do. My job is to set up chances for our team and stop the chances of the opposition... and taking possession of the centre is what makes this work. In junior football, it always seemed like the kids that were already shaving had the advantage. Or that the kid that ran the field got all the applause. And now I'm 17 I find that I'm regularly able to beat them. My coaches say I have become a thorn in the opposition coaches side. And I'm hearing that I'm now a prospect. So what happened? My coaches have told me I've been playing a senior's style football ever since I was a little kid, but I'd just have to be patient till I had players around me that did the same. They say I think on my feet and they say I cover ground efficiently. They say this is something you can't teach. And aprt from the times when we score off a chance I have created, or stopped one of their's dead in its tracks, they say I do a lot of little things that add up to a lot. So thanks to my coaches for saying stuff like that about me. I believe I have the ability, and I know I'm getting better. I can feel it. I realize this will not come easy, but if I continue to work hard on developing my skills, my mental strength and my physique, I can do it.
